Using Custom Fields on Frames

What are Custom Fields?

Custom fields let you add your own data points to frames beyond the built-in ones (notes, voice, camera movement, etc.). If there is something specific you always want to track — like a location, a prop list, an estimated duration, or a shot type — you can create a custom field for it.

Custom fields are defined at the board level, so every frame in that board can use them.

How to set up custom fields

  1. Open your board and go to the board settings.
  2. Find the Custom Fields section.
  3. Click Add Field and give it a name (e.g. Location, Duration, Prop List).
  4. Save your custom fields.

How to fill in a custom field on a frame

  1. Open a frame within the board.
  2. Scroll to the custom fields section in the frame editor.
  3. Fill in the value for each custom field.

Custom fields are flexible — use them however makes sense for your content type and workflow.
