What is the Quick Tutorial framework?
The Quick Tutorial is exactly what it sounds like: a tight, no-fluff structure for teaching one thing quickly. Short-form video platforms reward creators who get to the point fast and deliver real value in under 60 seconds. This 6-frame template is built for that format.
It strips the teaching process down to its essentials: hook attention, show the steps, reveal the result, ask for the follow. No padding, no lengthy intros — just clean, useful content.
Best for
Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts
Use when
You want to teach one thing fast without overthinking it. Perfect for tips, hacks, how-tos, and quick demonstrations.
The 6 Frames
- Hook — Stop the scroll immediately. Use a bold statement, a surprising result, or a direct question. Examples: Did you know...? / Watch this... / Stop doing this...
- Step 1 — The first part of the process. Keep it brief and visual.
- Step 2 — The second part. One clear action per frame.
- Step 3 — The third and final step. Three steps is the sweet spot for short video — any more and you risk losing people.
- Final Result — Show the finished result. This is the payoff — make it satisfying and clear.
- CTA — Follow for more, save this, comment below, or link in bio. One action only.
Tips
- Film your Final Result first — then use it as your Hook. Showing the end result upfront is one of the most effective ways to keep viewers watching.
- Text overlays on each step make your content accessible and more watchable on mute.
- Three steps is intentional. If your process has more steps, either combine some or make a Part 2.
